We used to raise and show Quarter Horses. At that time we had Working Dogs: Austrialian Shepherd and a Blue Healer (now AKC calls
this dog a Cattle Dog). We used these dogs to work horses and help herd them. Those dogs were very smart and very well trained. I have
also owned four Poodles which I bred years ago. And I have owned a Bichon and a Papillon. Working dogs have their place and Toy dogs
have their place. When it comes to Toy dogs, I speak from experience when I say the Havanese ranks highest on my list. They are quiet,
playful, intelligent, easy to train, responsive, and great with children. They are a pleasure to own.
I have had a pure bred dog in my care for over half a century.
The Havanese breed is a lively robust dog of great agility and intelligence originally bred to herd chicken in Cuba and play with children.
